Jamie Day is a small town girl from Evansville, Indiana. In college, Jamie studied theatre and graduated Suma Cum Laude with a BFA in Musical Theatre Performance. After graduation, Jamie moved to New York City to pursue her dream of becoming a Professional Actress. For over 8 years she worked consistently as an actress and singer in and out of the New York area, performing on different stages all around the world. In 2003, Jamie moved to Los Angeles and had success in the television and film industries. Jamie is a member of both the Actor's Equity Association and the Screen Actor's Guild. Since moving to Sarasota in the summer of 2005 Jamie has shifted her focus from the Professional Theatre to create the "Acting With Integrity" classes and programs. She feels very passionate about this work and believes very strongly that everyone can experience the healing, the truth and the empowerment that comes from the pure creative self-expression of the theatre.
Jamie is currently a registered Marriage and Family Therapy Intern with the state of Florida and works under the supervision of a State Qualified Supervisor. In addition, Jamie is working towards her Registration as a Drama Therapist in the Alternative Training Track Program recognized by the National Association of Drama Therapy. In June of 2011, she completed both of her graduate degrees with a 4.0 average from Nova Southeastern University and currently holds a Master of Science Degree in Education as well as a Master of Science Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. She performs regularly in the Sarasota area.
