The Drama Discovery Program is a Program that I have created for children that focuses on building empathy and compassion through empowerment, connection, & communication. This program allows children to tell their own stories though the use of improvised autobiographic material, fun theatrical games and experiential exercises that build self esteem. Children learn the importance of emotions, self expression, non-verbal communication, and listening skills. This program is for every child. It is fun, it is interactive, and it makes them feel great about themselves!
Georgetown University National Training Institutes for Children’s Mental Health
The Drama Discovery Program was Nationally recognized this year at the ‘Georgetown University National Training Institutes for Children’s Mental Health’. Jamie was asked to present the program in July of 2008 for a conference attended by over 3,000 Mental Health Professionals. This conference recognized Jamie and her work with the Drama Discovery Program as an innovative way to build empathy and compassion as well as self esteem and peer/parent connection.
